Plendify Prohibited Items Policy

At Plendify, we are committed to fostering a trusted, safe, and culturally authentic marketplace that connects global buyers with African and global artisans offering amazing high-quality products. To protect our community, ensure compliance with international laws, and uphold our mission of promoting fair trade and sustainable practices, certain items are prohibited from being listed or sold on Plendify.com. This policy outlines these restrictions and applies to all sellers, buyers, and users of our platform.

• General Prohibited Items

  Items listed on Plendify must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Plendify's Terms of Use. The following items are strictly prohibited:

  • Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, and Drug Paraphernalia:

    Including alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, illegal drugs and items designed for drug use (e.g., bongs, vaporizers).

  • Weapons and Hazardous Materials:

    Firearms, ammunition, explosives, knives intended for harm, high-powered magnets exceeding safety standards, flammable materials, and toxic substances (e.g., pesticides, radioactive materials).

  • Animal Products and Wildlife:

    Items made from endangered species (e.g., ivory, rhino horn), illegal animal products (e.g., poached hides), or items violating CITES regulations. Sustainable animal products (e.g., ethically sourced leather) must include certification.

  • Human Remains or Body Parts:

    Including bones, organs, or any human-derived products, except for ethically sourced hair used in traditional African crafts with proper documentation.

  • Pornography and Mature Content:

    Explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or profane imagery. Mature content (e.g., traditional art depicting nudity) must be tagged as “mature,” with non-explicit thumbnails.

  • Hate or Violence-Promoting Items:

    Content promoting hate groups, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics

  • Counterfeit or Unauthorized Goods:

    Fake branded items, pirated media, or replicas that infringe on intellectual property rights.

  • Gambling or Lottery Items:

    Raffle tickets, lottery entries, or gambling-related products.

  • Regulated Medical Devices:

    Unapproved medical devices or health products claiming unverified benefits (e.g., non-certified herbal remedies).

• Intellectual Property Violations

  Items that infringe on copyrights, trademarks, or patents are prohibited. Examples include:

  • Unauthorized use of brand names, logos, or designs (e.g., replicating designer jewelry without permission).

    Copied artwork, music, or patterns without artist consent. Sellers must ensure their products are original or licensed. Plendify may remove listings reported for intellectual property infringement and requires sellers to provide proof of authenticity if requested.

• Sanctions and Trade Restrictions

  Plendify complies with international sanctions and trade laws, including those enforced by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and other global bodies. Prohibited transactions include:

  • Items originating from sanctioned regions, such as Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, or the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.

  • Transactions involving individuals or entities on OFAC's Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) or Foreign Sanctions Evaders (FSE) lists.

  • Items subject to the U.S. Tariff Act or related laws prohibiting forced labour (e.g., products from Xinjiang, China). Sellers must disclose the country of origin for all items. Plendify prohibits accounts from operating in sanctioned locations and may suspend or terminate accounts violating these restrictions.
